Open since July 1990, the Cactus Cafe has become one of Loughborough's most popular restaurants - appealing to both students and local people alike.

It is a contemporary restaurant which encompasses all the style of an authentic Mexican Cantina.

Starting on Monday 27th June we will be serving an exciting new menu. By popular demand we have brought back our char grilled swordfish steak served either blackened or with our cactus salad and mango-lime butter. Other new dishes include Smoked Bbq Pork and Black Bean Burrito, Tijuana Steak Salad with a spicy walnut and orange dressing and our British Char grilled Rib Eye Steak with a Red Wine Chilli Butter. The other big change is that our popular 2 course menu is now available Monday to Thursday for only £8.95.

If you don't have one of our discount cards you can pick one up at the Cactus and you'll be able to get our 2 course menu for just £6.95 every Monday night and BOGOF (buy one get one free) on cocktails every Tuesday night (free cocktail must be same as the first). (£1 donation to our chosen charity Action Against Hunger required).

Atmosphere

Customers are attracted to the Cactus Cafe by its lively, informal atmosphere, quality food and drink at reasonable prices.

The big concertina doors are thrown open in the Summer months to provide a light and airy, Mediterranean feel with walls exhibiting vibrant paintings from local artists.

Live Music

We now have live music on the 1st Wednesday of every month which features modern and contemporary jazz from Chris Conway and Andy Nicolls. Come along and join in the fun. Music starts at 8pm. Check out Chris and Andys music on www.chrisconway.org

The Cactus is also a great party venue!

Whether it's for a birthday, leaving do or Xmas party, we can cater for groups of up to 36 people (Monday to Thursday) and 24 on Friday and Saturday, with fixed price menus starting at £8.95 for 2 courses.

Cocktails

We have an extensive cocktail list priced from £4.75 to £4.95. New on the menu is a range of non alcoholic cocktails including a Virgin Mojitas and Pomegranate Cooler along with classics like the Margarita and Cosmopolitan.
